Maj. Gen. Max Haston, Tennessee’s Adjutant General, has announced a huge Middle Tennessee Hiring Fair on Friday, July 13.

It will be held in Smyrna and open to National Guard members, Reservists, spouses, and all veterans. The Fair will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Smyrna Towne Center, 100 Sam Ridley Parkway.

“The military is like a big family,” said Maj. Gen. Haston. “We’re all taught to look out for our buddies, and hosting these events for our military families is one way of doing exactly that.  Some men and women have returned from Iraq or Afghanistan to find the place where they used to work is no longer in business, and now they’re out there looking. We’re trying to help them every way we can.”

“This is an opportunity not only for our Guard and Reserve members and their spouses, but all veterans,” points out Marvin Wells, National Guard Bureau, Employer Support Specialist. “There will be 55 employers, with jobs, eager to talk with individuals with a military background. This is the largest number of employers we’ve ever had at one of these events.”

The Hiring Fair is being sponsored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
