More than 100 bumper stickers were placed on city signs, costing more than $5,000 to clear or replace signs.
More than 100 “Skydive” bumper stickers were placed on Murfreesboro city street signs, causing more than $5,000 worth of vandalism, police reported. Street employees must remove the bumper stickers, some of which can’t be removed so the sign must be replaced, Officer Pam Crabtree reported. The vandalism costs taxpayers in manpower replacing and cleaning the signs. Murfreesboro Police spokesman Kyle Evans said Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of suspects involved in the felony vandalism. People who have information about the vandals may call Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
