Duck Race winners (L to R) Dalton Woods (third place), Michael Zipay (second place) and Alexandra Evan (first place) show off their speedy ducks after the second annual Siegel Middle School Student Council Duck Race.
The Siegel Middle School Student Council sponsored its second annual Duck Races on Friday, Oct. 30, as part of its support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

By making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, students and teachers were given a small rubber duck to race in a specially created river course behind the school.

“The fire department created a flowing stream. Going in small groups, students race their ducks with the winner moving on to the next round,” said Edie Sessions, Student Council sponsor. “We’ll eventually have one winning duck out of about 600.”

This year the school donated $3,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation from the Duck Race donations.
