At approximately 6:45 p.m. officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department responded to the area of University and Castle streets in reference to a shooting, according to statement released by officials.

A male subject was shot multiple times during the incident.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division have identified a person of interest and are investigating the incident.
