Expect “good food and fun” at the Wings and Rings benefit for Special Olympians from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Toot’s on South Church Street. Wings and Rings raises funds for Special Olympians in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County to compete in the annual track and field meet April 7 at MTSU. Diners may feast on Toot’s famous wings, be served by Sheriff Robert Arnold and School Resource Officers and donate to Special Olympics. Lou Paschall, who coordinates Special Olympics meet for individuals with intellectual disabilities, said Wings and Rings is a fun fundraiser where diners get a great meal with the Toot’s atmosphere. “Family friendly entertainment will be provided by the SROs,” Paschall said. “The SROs will assist in the serving with the Toot's staff in addition to singing and telling jokes,” Paschall said. “Each table will have an envelope for any contributions diners would like to make.” Toot’s owner Wade Hays said this is the first fund-raiser at the Toot’s on South Church Street and his staff is excited about the event. “I hope we raise a lot of money and have fun doing it,” Hays said. |
