There be few if any arrests for texting. It has become an addiction with a growing segment of the population and because most of the accidents caused by (this) distraction are "fender benders" we don't see the stats. The other day as I was slowly going down the exit lane in front of Krogers, a "zombie" appeared from on of the parking lanes head down texting. I stopped because I was sure he was going to walk into the side of the car and he almost did. He woke up one step short of walking into what was now a parked car. I see people walk into other people as well as stationary objects as they give into their addiction. Yesterday, at a traffic light, I was next to a guy in a pickup truck who, head down, was texting. The light changed and I moved on, but the "zombie" didn't until a chorus of horns behind him woke him up.I looked in my mirror and there was now a 4 or 5 car gap between me and the truck which meant several people had to wait through another light. It's no wonder that there is so much road rage.
