Blackman Coach Phil Shadowens tonight faces Smyrna where he won two straight state championships two years ago as the undefeated Blaze try to remain the only undefeated team in the county.

Blackman had rolled to two straight shutout wins. Smyrna, 1-1, lost to powerful Brentwood in its opener.

The matchup is one of three pitting Class 6A teams in district play tonight.

Oakland and Siegel, both 1-1 with points after determining both losses, clash in one of the top inter-city rivalries.

In the third district game La Vergne visits Riverdale. Both are 1-1.

Eagleville and MTCS are both at home, seeking first wins.
