“Let’s Talk … Senior Issues” is an open forum that provides a unique opportunity for the senior citizens of Rutherford County.

Attendees are invited to let their voices be heard regarding key changes they would like to see, and to seek clear answers about what is available for seniors. The forum will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at St. Clair Street Senior Center, 325 St. Clair St. in Murfreesboro.

“Let’s Talk… Senior Issues” will provide an arena for seniors and others to present concerns about fundamental changes they would like to see, as well as an opportunity to ask for information.

Presented by the Rutherford County Council on Aging (RCCOA), a panel of community experts will field questions from the public on a variety of issues and interests relevant to seniors. John Hood, former state representative and current MTSU community liaison, will serve as the forum moderator.

The panel will discuss questions asked by those attending the forum on specific issues. Future meetings of the RCCOA will focus on those topics that require more in-depth discussion.

Panelists include: Jeff Fryer representing Middle Tennessee Medical Center: Rachel Holder of United Way of Rutherford and Bedford Counties; Charles M. King, director of Community Care of Rutherford County; Marie Littrell of Parkview Meadows; Claudia Harris of A Place for Mom; Dee Brown, St. Clair Street Senior Center; Bob Nugent, Rover; Bob Buckman, Mid-Cumberland Transportation; Debbie Willis, Mid-Cumberland Meals-on-Wheels; Mary Beth Best, Medicare; and Michele Fowler, Riverside Center of Stones River Hospital.
