Second shooting prompts another MTSU warning

A shooting on Hancock Street Wednesday prompted MTSU authorities to issue a second alert this week.

At approximately 10:46a.m. Murfreesboro Police received a call of a shooting at Jefferson Green Apartments on Hanover Street.

The caller informed Communications the victim left in a green car and the suspect left on foot. Responding officers began a search of the area for the suspect and victim.

At 11:12 a.m. the victim arrived at Middle Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of a minor injury to his leg which we believe to be a gunshot wound. The victim is not cooperating with the investigation at this time.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing some type of jacket with a red hood.

Anyone with information should call MPD Criminal Investigations at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP (7867) M-F 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

MTSU was locked down briefly Monday after a man was shot in the hand during an argument on campus. The shooter ran off but was later apprehended by MPD.
