Back in the 1970s, there was a Nashville Banner story about a "slave cemetery" atop a little ridge in the middle of what was Sewart Air Force Base. Smyrna Airport Director Steve Fitzhugh (now deceased) made an effort to have it preserved. Present-day condition unknown...
