Two victims who suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds in a State Street shooting are being treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, a Murfreesboro Police spokesman said.

The victims were inside a car with another adult and thee children, said Maj. Clyde Adkison. The adult and three children were not hit. The suspects ran on foot.

Rutherford County Schools’ spokesman James Evans said Holloway, Campus and Central Middle Schools, all county schools, were locked down after the shooting as a precautionary measure.

Children who ride buses or are picked up by their parents are expected to be released from Holloway and Campus schools at regular dismissal time. Buses will run as scheduled.

“Central Middle School will hold the walkers for now until we get a better picture from the police department or parents can pick them up,” Evans said.

Adkison said the police department is not releasing the victims’ names pending notification of family members.

Police are searching for the suspects.

People who witnessed the shootings or have information are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crime Stoppers offer cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of suspects.

Hmmmm … "non-threatening gunshot wounds" … golleeee, if I had been shot, I would have at least felt threatened.
Hope those injured suffered non-life-threatening wounds. And, I guess the shooter(s) could care less that children were in harm's way.

kyndwurd, "non-threatening" meant it is not a "life ending" or "life threatening" wound.

But don't worry, if it were threatening Macgyver would seal the wounds and heal the sick with super glue and Zycam.

Golleeee, Macgyver, I'm sure glad you 'splained that to me. I know newspapers are cutting back, but does that mean they are dropping words from stories?

Did you mean "You're too tired to help ?" lol

By: GrumpaEd on 11/10/09
Well, as long as we're giving English lessons, the term is "couldn't care less," not "could care less."

GrumpaEd, you're my hero. Why can't people get that one right. I mean, if you could care less, why even bring it up?
