On Dec. 15 and 16, Meals on Wheels received two Christmas presents from the employees of Nissan, who have 100 percent participation in the United Way Campaign and chose to make an extra donation.

“Thanks Nissan for keeping our wheels going round,” MOW director Cheryl Lisi said.

John Welsh’s Paint Workgroup along with the NS Stamping Workgroup each chose Meals on Wheels and presented the organization with a check for $2009. Combined the checks will provide more than 1,000 meals for Rutherford Counties’ homebound senior citizens.

Meals on Wheels also received a Christmas gift from the employees of Amedisys Home Health Care in honor of Home Health Care month.

The business co-sponsored a night out at Jim and Nicks BBQ restaurant in Murfreesboro with proceeds from diners’ meals benefiting Meals on Wheels.

The night out raised more than $650 to fund meals for homebound senior citizens’ in Murfreesboro.
