People still have time to give to The Salvation Army this holiday season, contributing money through the famed red kettles through Dec. 24 and meeting your Angel Tree obligation by Friday to make your Angel’s Christmas merry and bright.

Bell ringers are manning kettles at 28 Rutherford County locations, including 24 in Murfreesboro. You can find kettles at all Kroger, Walmart and Walgreens, plus Belk, Hobby Lobby, JR’s Foodland, Kmart, Old Time Pottery, Sam’s Club and Sears. Kroger is the lone kettle site in La Vergne. In Smyrna, bell ringers manage kettles at Kroger and Walmart. Salvation Army officials urge people to give because the need is critical.

Angel Tree gifts will be distributed Dec. 20, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 1137 W. Main St. Volunteers are needed to assist with the distribution.

Angel Tree gifts and those for Forgotten Angels should be brought unwrapped to The Salvation Army between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., or to the shelter by 9:30 p.m.

Angels still can be found at Goody’s, Regions Bank on Memorial, Starbucks on Old Fort Parkway, all Walmarts, O’Charley’s in Smyrna off I-24 and jcpenney.com.
