Rutherford County Christmas Parade returns this Sunday | Event, Christmas
The 2009 Rutherford County Christmas Parade is an event for kids of all ages. “There are 130 entries this year with all kinds of floats by different groups from the community involved,” WGNS’s Melissa McCullough said, adding the parade features local bands, churches, community leaders, scout group, businesses and first responders of every stripe. Not to mention all the candy and Santa riding by on his motorized sleigh. The parade shows the spirit of Rutherford County and “what Murfreesboro is all about,” she said. Overall the Rutherford County Christmas Parade, sponsored by WGNS, is the holiday season’s top event, drawing thousands to watch the march from MTSU to downtown. The Sounds of Christmas-theme parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, starting at MTSU’s Bell Street Parking lot, down East Main Street, around the historic Murfreesboro Square, onto West Main and ending on Walnut Street.

shotgun, I guess you need to explain because the parade has always started at Bell Street, not Greenland. Now floats leave Greenland but then along Middle Tennessee groups, bands, etc., join into the parade.

If you have the answers, WGNS is always seeking volunteers to assist so I am sure you will volunteer to step up instead of complaining.
