Ruth Gray McElwee, 94, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2012 at Christian Care Center. Mrs. McElwee was born in Sutton, WV to the late John and Eda Sutton. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Mrs. McElwee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alexander Basil McElwee, and daughter, Patty Franklin. She is survived by her sons, B.J. (Carla) McElwee of Culleoka, TN; J.V. Valentine (Jewell) McElwee of Waynesboro, TN; John (Eleanor) McElwee of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Jackie (John) McPeak of Smyrna; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Homer Sutton of Ohio.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 07, 2012 from 9:00am until the Memorial service at 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with John McElwee officiating.
