This weekend’s “Let Freedom Ring” Republican Picnic is just around the corner. The annual event is set for Saturday, July 17 at Murfreesboro’s Barfield-Crescent Park from 3:30-6:30.  The event is free with donations appreciated.

“This gives Republicans and Conservative Independents a chance to come together to discuss politics, meet our candidates, have a good with family and friends. Said Jimmy Evans, County GOP Chairman. The event will feature animals from Bill Boner’s farm, music, barbeque from Slick Pig, and a candidate dessert auction.

“We are very excited about the first annual dessert auction. Elected officials and candidates are bringing a dessert to be auctioned off to raise money for the headquarters fund. This promises to be a lot of fun for all. County Commissioner Steve Sandlin will be conducting the auction.” Said Felicia Hix, President of The Republican Women.

Scheduled to attend are County Mayor Ernest Burgess, County Trustee Teb Batey, County Assessor Bill Boner, Sen. Bill Ketron, Rep. Donna Rowland, Rep. Joe Carr, Rep. Pat Marsh, Sen. Jim Tracy, Lou Ann Zelenik, Kerry Roberts, Dave Evans, Gary Mann, Sen. Diane Black, Mayor Bill Haslam, Congressman Zach Wamp, Rick Womick, Mike Sparks, Robert Arnold, Lisa Duke-Crowell, Laura Bohling, Heather Dawbarn and candidates for County Commission and County School Board.

I sincerely hope Tennesseans not be lazy and persuaded by big money from the unworthy Haslam campaign and see the experience, knowledge, passion, and TRUTH behind Zach Wamp. He could easily have been re-elected to Congress but chose to come home and use what he's learned (good and bad) in Washington to make Tennessee a better state in which to live, learn, work and enjoy. He researched issues early, talked with people all over Tennessee, and then developed a 20/20 Vision to help lead a stronger Tennessee into the next decade. He's never tried to hide anything and CAN be trusted to do what he says. We need to elect as our next governor a man who works hard, seemingly never tires, and has earned the respect of those who know him. Please try to meet and talk with him at Saturday's picnic. You won't be disappointed. He's the real deal. Back Zach!!!
