The Rutherford County Solid Waste Department collect electronic waste Tuesday, July 7 and Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The free-of-charge collection will take place at the county recycling center located on 1140 Haley Road.
This is scheduled to be a permanent electronic collection site for Rutherford County and will be open Tuesday and Saturday of each week until the total remodeling of the site is complete. Upon completion of the remodeling, the site will be open five days each week.
Any working or non-working electronics will be collected for destruction.
After the electronics are salvaged the remaining components are recycled into usable products.
Electronics should not be land filled, but instead handled in a manner that protects human health and is safe for the environment. |
