Rutherford County has once again made the nation’s list of fastest growing counties.

According to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Friday, Rutherford is the 57th fastest growing county in the nation. Last year it made the list at 65.

Since the 2000 census, the county has added 67,247 or 39.6 percent to its population, making it the fastest growing county in the state. Williamson and Fayette counties also made the Top 100 list, adding 35.4 percent and 32.6 percent respectively.

Given the changes and growth in the community since 2000, here’s a table of selected characteristics found by the census in 2000 and the American Community Survey in 2007.
