Rocks tossed onto state Route 840 damage three vehicles early Sunday, sheriff’s deputies reported.

Driver Roy Lee McCullough III of Leanna-Central Valley Road was driving eastbound at the 56 mile-marker when he struck a large rock in the highway, Deputy Barry Poole reported.

The impact flattened his tires and damaged his car, Poole reported.

In another case, driver Jordan A. Freeman of Lebanon struck a large rock, causing a hole in the oil pan and damaging the power steering in her Volkswagen Beetle, Deputy Michael Parsons reported. Damage was set at $6,000. Her car had to be towed.

Driver Alan Luboniecki of Brandywine Drive told Deputy Chris Webb someone tossed rocks across both lanes, causing $500 damage to the tire and rim of his vehicle.

Poole reported deputies followed a muddy path to Birdsong Avenue where they believe the rocks were thrown.

Detective Ralph Mayercik is investigating. People who have information about the rock throwers are asked to call him at 904-3044.

I hope they find the morons that did this. These incidents could have been so much more worse!

Parents do you know where your kids are. It is not a crime to know that, but it could turn into one.

I live on Birdsong, and have for nine years. The kids there aren't any diffrent than anywhere else. If they don't have something to do, they will find something, right or wrong. That's were the parents come in.

Yes, I have two kids and they don't like it, but I ask questions & check up on them from time to time. Has nothing to do with trust, but it's what parents do. I beleive it builds integrity for our kids and helps surpress pear pressure.
