Robert Lee Malone, age 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away on December 5, 2012 at his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County and served in the United States Army. Robert worked for Cummings Sign Company. Robert was of the Baptist faith.
 
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Willie Lee Malone and Sally Mai Harvey Malone; daughter, Teresa Lynn Espy and sister, Doris Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Katherine Jakes Malone of Murfreesboro; daughters, Cynthia Lee (Randy) Malone Harrell of Beechgrove, TN and Brenda Sue Malone of Murfreesboro; brother, James Malone of Louisville, KY; sister, Helen Malone of Waynesboro, TN; five grandchildren, Katherine Harrell Knox, Taryn Harrell, David Espy, Lorenzo Espy and Jamie Dunnaway; and one great-grandchild, Dante Knox.
 
Chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
