Robert Henry Vannatta Jr., age 89, of Smyrna, died Sunday, September 30, 2012. Mr. Vannatta was a native of Toledo, OH, and was the son of the late Robert H., Sr. and Selma Pickle Vannatta.
Funeral service will be at nooon Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Lloyd Mabry will officiate. Burial will be in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Vannatta is survived by his wife Mary G. Vannatta; sons Robert VanNatta of Walnut Creek, OH, and Edward Vannatta of Millersburg, OH; step-son Stephen Drogus of Ashburn, VA; step-daughter Danielle Howell of Smyrna; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Vannatta was a member of First United Methodist Church of Smyrna and was a retired US Navy Pilot.
Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
