Robert E. Wade Sr. age 63 of Murfreesboro, passed away January 25, 2010 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Mr. Wade was a member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Wade and Mammie Lou Phillips Wade.

Robert worked for many years with the Mitchell Backhoe Service and he was a member of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his son, Robert E. Wade, Jr.; grandson, Darius Wade; sisters, Edith Richardson, Lorene (Charlie) Richardson, Charlene Swader, Dorothy Vaughter, Mable (John) Henry, Lillie (Fred) Swader, Wilma (J.B.) Miller; brothers, Charlie (Evelyn) Wade, John Wade, Jr. and many other relatives and friends.

Services on Friday, January 29, 2010 are at Scales & Sons Funeral Home, as follows: lie-in-state from 5 - 6 p.m. and visitation from 6 - 7 p.m. On Saturday, January 30, 2010, a 2nd visitation will be held at Smithfork Tabernacle from 12 noon until the funeral starts at 1 p.m. Rev. Goldy Wade, officiating and Pastor Richard, W. Sibert, eulogist. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.
