Robert Burton Ross Jr., age 84, of Murfreesboro, passed away on September 24, 2012 at his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Robert worked for Delbridge Bestway Foods and was a member of Oaklands Baptist Church. After retirement he volunteered for helping the elderly and handicapped.
 
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Burton Ross, Sr. and Mattie Victory Ross; son, Bobby Ross; one grandchild, Jimmy Williams; four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katherine Heath Ross; daughters, Barbara (Bobby) Sons and Shelby (Eddy) Williams both of Murfreesboro; brother, Duddly Ross of Washington; sisters, Christine Davis of LaVergne, Gracie Hall of Gladesville, Louise Henley of Smyrna and Faye Fusting of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by devoted friends, Ricky and Gail Moore.
 
Chapel service will be held at Jennings and Ayers Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jim Frazier and Rodney Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
