Rutherford County sheriff’s detectives need help identifying occupants of a dark Dodge Ram pickup truck who broke into Jefferson Pike Market and stole cigarettes early Tuesday at 574 W. Jefferson Pike. The market’s video camera system captured a white man and woman in a late 1980s to 1990s dark, possibly black, Dodge single cab pickup truck hauling the cigarettes about 1:30 a.m. away from the market located near Walter Hill Elementary School, Deputy Michael Parsons reported. The truck had a temporary tag on the driver’s side back sliding glass window and had chrome exhaust tips exiting from under the rear bumper. Detective Ralph Mayercik said he hopes citizens will give information about the truck and its occupants to him by calling 904-3044. Parsons reported the camera showed a white man with dark brown hair and a mustache exited from the driver’s door. He wore blue jeans and a dark leather dress jacket. His female companion was described as a heavyset woman wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, flip flops and a bracelet. She covered her head with a blue jacket. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the Dodge pickup truck. |
