On Wednesday, July 7, Go U.S.A. on Armory Drive was allegedly robbed by a white male dressed in black hood and mask.

The man reportedly entered the rear of the building with a gun and demanded money.

After questioning the man, one employee was allegedly struck with the handgun. The staff cooperated with the man as another employee filled a bag with money and handed it to the suspect while a third was forced to lie face down on the floor.

Officers transported the assault victim to Middle Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. The store manager provided officers with access to a video of the incident.

Robert Lufkin informed officers Tuesday, July 6, that was being harassed over the phone by an individual named Matthew Garrett.

Lufkin told police that the alleged harassment began after Garrett learned that Lufkin had been talking to his ex-girlfriend.

Garrett allegedly called Lufkin and told him there would be “consequences” and “I’m going to mash you.”

When Lufkin refused to answer his phone Garrett sent an alleged text message that read, “Wow!!! All I go 2 say!! Wow Homie. I’m really hurt.”

Around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Lufkin allegedly received a voice mail from Garrett saying he wanted to talk because “I know you erased me from (your) Facebook and all that (stuff), but I’m trying to smooth (stuff) over … we can get it smoothed over because I’m a (expletive) lunatic sometimes.”

Lufkin responded in a text message explaining he did not want to talk because he had done nothing to Garrett and has nothing to say to him. He continued to say that he was trying to avoid further action and asked Garrett to stop harassing him.

Late Tuesday night Lufkin received several phone calls and threats from Garrett saying he would have to talk to him eventually. He contacted police because he knows Garrett has been violent in the past and believes Garrett intends to physically harm him.
