One man posing as a plainclothes police officer accused an amputee and another woman of dealing drugs when he robbed the amputee of $80 Thursday outside Regal Inn on South Church Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Amputee Lamar Wade Gollottte, 51, of North Tennessee Boulevard was sitting in his car talking to acquaintance Kristie Rodriquez about noon outside the motel after she gave him the $80 repayment from a loan to another friend, Officer Pam Crabtree reported.

A white man claiming to be a police officer told them he knew they were dealing drugs and watched them exchange money, the officer reported. Rodriquez told him she was going to call the real police while Gollotte asked for his badge.

The man reached inside the car under Gollotte’s right thigh and grabbed the $80, the officer reported.

Detective Garry Templeton retrieved the videotape from the Regal Inn and dusted for fingerprints.

In an unrelated burglary, Officer Matt Manor reported a black man wearing all black with a black cloth covering his face robbed the Kangaroo clerk about 3:40 a.m. Friday on South Church Street.

The robber holding a knife ordered the clerk to give him money from the cash register, Manor reported. When the clerk opened the register, the robber took about $80.
