Robber places gun against victim's neck

One robber placed his handgun against a victim’s neck as he barked out commands during the holdup about 8:45 p.m. Saturday on Wenlon Drive, Murfreesboro Police reported.

It was one of three robberies reported during the weekend.

Victims Ian Neel, Cody Carlton, Tyler Whitworthy and Jordan Otter were playing video games and hanging out when two men wearing hoodies and bandanas entered with firearms, Officer Aaron Price reported.

One of the men demanded the victims to empty their pockets and get down while the second one stood at the door. The robber demanding the property put a gun to Otter’s neck and head while making demands.

The robbers escaped with wallets, an IPod and jewelry and several cell phones. The property amounted to about $500.

In a second robbery, Officer Matt Manor reported victim Holly Boyce was robbed at gunpoint about 2 a.m. Sunday at North Tennessee Boulevard.

Boyce told Manor there were about 25 guests partying in her room, including two men she didn’t know. After most people left, one of the men pulled out a gun, advised Boyce and another guest to put their hands up and empty their pockets.

“Ms. Boyce states the two black males got upset because no one had any money so they left (the) apartment,” Manor reported. As they walked away, one man fired two rounds.

Detectives took over the investigation. Police searched the area but found no signs of a shooting.

In a third case, Officer Sean Garrison reported victim John R. Summar, 18, of West Jefferson Pike was inside his car at Sonic about 10:30 p.m. Thursday Memorial Boulevard when two men he didn’t know jumped inside his back seat.

“Gimme what you got,” the robbers yelled at Summar while putting a gun to his back. Summar reported he handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and told the suspect to get out of his car.

He followed a suspect vehicle on Memorial Boulevard but later abandoned the chase.

Detectives were investigating.
