The following road projects will affect traffic in Murfreesboro during the week beginning June 22:
Road conditions are shown every hour on Channel 3.
- The new light on Old Fort Parkway at I-24 is working, but the timing is off.
The light is timed for a double left-hand turn onto the interstate, but TDOT hasn’t completed the ramp yet. The single lane for a double turn is backing up traffic along Old Fort Parkway.
Murfreesboro Traffic Department hopes TDOT will have the ramp finished in a month.
- TDOT will begin milling and paving State Route 41 (Broad Street/Manchester Highway) from Rutherford Boulevard to Epps Mill Road starting at 9 a.m. Monday. The project will take at least two weeks, weather permitting.
- The nightmare on Broad Street continues.
TDOT crews have shifted all traffic to the west, close the east side from Vine Street to Lytle Street and begin the final phase of the bridge replacement project.
Two lanes will be open in each direction with a center turn lane. No left turns will be allowed from Broad to Main or Main to Broad. The intersection remains right in and right out only.
- Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department (MWSD) continues with reconstruction of a sewer main under Vine Street. Crews are working between University and Bilbro this week from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
During the day, Vine Street is closed to all but local traffic. Through traffic, traveling for the east and west will be detoured to Main and Sevier streets. Local residents will have access to homes at all times.
- Crews are now working on Florence Road from Manson Pike to I-24. There are currently no closures. |
