Riverdale 27, Hendersonville 28 (2 OT); La Vergne wins



Riverdale's point after was blocked as Hendersonville pulled out a 28-27 in two overtimes Thursday night in a televised game in Sumner County.

Riverdale scored one the first play of both its overtime, fourth-play series while Hendersonville struggled to post its scores, but Damien Russell leaped up to put a paw on Riverdale's second overtime PAT attempt to net the Commandos the win.

The weekly televised game for the second week in a row saw a Rutherford County team fall in overtime after the opposing team scored late to force the extra time. Oakland lost to Ensworth, 22-20, last Saturday in the weekly MYTV30 game.

Hendersonville never led until the deciding overtime period, driving down the field behind five Elijah Howell pass completions to tie the score in regulation time with less than a minute left.

Riverdale, a 35-0 winner over Antioch in its opener, is 1-1.

La Vergne scored a big win Thursday evening, hammering host Cane Ridge 42-13, to bring the Wolverines to 1-1.
