MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The Rutherford County Retired Teachers Association is hosting a pre-retirment seminar for educators on Thursday, Jan. 23, at North Boulevard Church of Christ.

The free seminar will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, located at 1112 N. Rutherford Blvd. in Murfreesboro.

To attend the seminar, educators must make a reservation no later than Monday, Jan. 20, by emailing to sara-gannon@comcast.net. Interested parties are asked to include their name and the school system that they are employed by when registering for the event.

This year’s present will be Ron Pendergrass, associate executive director of the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association.

Any educator who will retire under the state retirement plan, regardless of whether that person is a member of TEA, will be given information that will prove beneficial in making decisions concerning retirement.

Attendees are asked to arrive between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. and enter through the side door marked Fellowship Kitchen on the north side of the church. The seminar will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m.
