Local restaurants in Murfreesboro will be supporting the Red Cross for “March is Red Cross Month” by participating in “Restaurants for Relief” next month. Participating restaurants include Maple Street Grill, Newk’s, Kirkenburt’s and The Clay Cup.
“We are very excited about this new initiative to help raise funds and awareness for the Red Cross during March is Red Cross Month, “said 2010 Red Cross Campaign Vice Chair Jonathan Jones.
How to Help:
Each participating restaurant will have table toppers, donated by Franklin’s Printing, at each table that has information about local Red Cross services Servers will deliver a Red Cross donation envelope at the end of the meal with the check and patrons have the opportunity to donate to the local Red Cross via cash, check or credit card. Each restaurant will collect their donation envelopes to be picked up by the Red Cross each week. Participating restaurant patrons can make donations throughout the entire month of March.
The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross provides vital emergency assistance to help victims of local disasters in Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Franklin, Coffee & Moore counties. Over the past year the Chapter trained nearly 15,000 people in CPR & First Aid, Babysitting and Aquatics training, and provided pre-deployment briefings and emergency communications for over 640 active duty military personnel and their families. Over 13,177 pints of life-saving blood were collected from the community last year. All of these services are made possible by over 320 dedicated local Red Cross volunteers as well as through generous gifts from the local community.
