Resident Charles J. Bryson of Mona Road suffered smoke inhalation Friday when his kitchen stove caught on fire, spreading flames throughout his home, Deputy Michael Romans reported.

Bryson refused treatment for the smoke inhalation, the deputy reported.

The fire started on the stove and spread, gutting the interior of the brick home, Romans reported. Volunteer firefighters from Walter Hill and Almaville fire departments battled the blaze but could not save the interior of the home.
