Sheriff’s dispatchers heard a husband order his pit bull dog to “sic” a deputy responding to a 911 domestic fight about early Valentine’s Day, the deputy reported.

Dispatchers answered the 911 emergency call about 2:20 a.m. from Heather Johnson of Leanna Road complaining her boyfriend assaulted her, Deputy Joseph McCool reported. She dropped the phone allowing dispatchers to monitor the open line.

They heard Johnson’s boyfriend Danny B. Conner release his dog and say “sic ’em” when McCool arrived.

“As I approached the residence on foot, a pit bull dog ran toward me in an extremely aggressive manner and would not allow me to approach the residence,” McCool reported.

McCool reached the front door but dispatchers informed him the residents would not allow him to enter. Multiple deputies forced their way into the home to check on Johnson’s welfare.

“She was in fear for her safety due to Mr. Conner throwing the coffee table toward her,” knocking the telephone out of her hand and “striking her in the face during her conversation with 911,” McCool reported.

McCool charged Conner with aggravated assault, domestic assault and violation of probation. He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing was set March 22 in General Sessions Court.

Honestly I'm surprised that he could train a pit bull to do something that complicated. Everyone I've ever come across has been...well....less than intelligent. Most are genlte, but not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed

It's idiots like this guy that give pit bulls a bad reputation. If the girl is smart, she'll get away from this loser. Next time it could be a knife or gun instead of a coffee table!
