Murfreesboro Street and Sign Department Director Rick Templeton has announced regular leaf pickup has stopped for the season.
If residents have leaves they need picked up, he asks that they call the department at 615-893-4380.
As fall waned and leaves began falling, Templeton said his crews geared up.
“We usually begin sometime in October,” he explained. “Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department always helps out when needed because they have the larger trucks and knucklebooms.”
The heavier part of the leaf collection season ends around Christmastime and crews make their rounds through about this time of year.
“Things have slowed down to the point we’re stopping regular rounds and asking residents who need leaves picked up to call his department,” he said. “We’ll continue going back to specific spots on a case-by-case basis when they are called in until they are gone.” |
