Registration for the second annual Special Kids Race in Murfreesboro begins Saturday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m.

Local nonprofit Special Kids will hold the race on March 23, 2013.

The race will once again be presented by Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgicenter and held at the company's building on Garrison Drive in the Gateway section of Murfreesboro.

Space is limited to 2,500 participants, so parents are encouraged to sign their children up as soon as possible.

This year, runners and walkers will again have the opportunity to choose between three distances – the 1 Mile Fun Run, 5K, and 15K – to welcome all types and levels of participants.

Families are encouraged to join their children in the 1 Mile Fun Run.

MMC’s partnership is making it possible for Special Kids to reach more children and families in need in the community. For a second year, the clinic will supply the location, employee volunteers, and marketing for the race.
