An alert employee leads Murfreesboro Police to arrest a man for the sexual exploitation of a minor.

On Monday April 18, a Sam’s Club employee called MPD after finding something suspicious in pictures we was developing for a customer.

The employee gave the photos to MPD Officer Michael Payne, who found pornographic pictures of children.

An investigation by MPD Detectives Wayne Lawson and Tommy Roberts led to registered sex offender Paul Berg.

During questioning, Berg, 43, of Leanna Central Valley Road, admitted to submitting the photographs for development and even having extra copies made of certain photos.

He also agreed to a search of his home.

“During this search photo cut outs of (a) young male were found on Mr. Berg’s wall,” Lawson said, adding Berg had other photos of boys along with pornographic movies simulating sex acts with young boys.

Lawson was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, unlawful photography and violating the sex offender registry. He is scheduled to appear in court May 12.
