Register for Linebaugh's 'zine' workshop

TMP Reports

Linebaugh Public Library, in partnership with Artsy Mamas, will present a zine workshop, 9 a.m. - noon on Saturday, September 12. This free workshop will give parents a chance to explore their creative side through writing, drawing, collage, or other 2-D art.

During this free workshop, participants will learn about zines, see some examples, talk about how to make a zine, and work together to make a collaborative zine. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have a copy of the finished zine to take home with them, and a copy will be added to Linebaugh Library's zine collection.

A zine (pronounced "zeen," like "magazine") is a self-published, small circulation, non-commercial booklet or magazine, usually produced by one person or a few individuals. “Zines are a fun, creative way for writers and artists to express themselves,” said Jerianne Thompson, Collection Development Coordinator for Linebaugh Library. “This workshop is a perfect opportunity for mothers to put their artistic endeavors on the page and feel the reward of having their work published.”

This workshop is for parents, ages 18 and up. Advance registration is required. To register, please email zines@linebaugh.org or call 615-893-4131, ext. 121.
