The Heart of Tennessee Chapter has scheduled its inaugural Heroes Luncheon for noon Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Doubletree Hotel in Murfreesboro.

The event will honor Bob Mifflin, executive director of The Christy Houston Foundation, as the Hero of the Year.

“We are so thrilled to have the support of all of our community sponsors and to be able to highlight the efforts of Bob Mifflin, as he has been a wonderful friend to the (American) Red Cross and a pillar of community service in Rutherford County for many years,” said Mike Cowles, executive of the Tennessee chapter.

The 2013 Heroes Luncheon will also feature Nashville sports talk radio host George Plaster as the keynote speaker.

Plaster has served as a host for daily afternoon sports talk radio programs for more than 20 years at multiple locations.

In addition to his daily radio show, Plaster currently hosts a regular video-on-demand show available to Middle Tennessee's Comcast subscribers, entitled “Plaster on Demand,” which is shot after every Tennessee Titans home game.

To purchase a sponsorship or to learn about the luncheon, contact Deena Cruz at 615-893-4272 ext. 104 or via e-mail at Deena.Cruz@redcross.org.
