Red Cross buys Chamber of Commerce building

The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross announced it will be moving to the current Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Building, located at 501 Memorial Boulevard, thanks to a generous grant from the Christy-Houston Foundation.

The Rutherford County Chamber is in the process of moving to a new location that is being built on Medical Center Parkway. Once this move is complete, the Red Cross offices will relocate to the former Chamber building sometime this fall depending on construction.

“The move to the new building will allow us to further enhance our services to the community, because we will be easily accessible to the public for CPR & first aid training and blood donations in an improved, updated facility,” said CEO Greg King.  “We truly feel that this new location will help us to better fulfill our mission of helping our community to prepare, respond and recover from disasters,” King continued.

“The Chamber of Commerce is pleased to work out an agreement where such a terrific organization as the Red Cross can move into this facility,” Chamber President Paul Latture said.  “With the incredible growth Rutherford County has seen over the last several years, this facility will certainly allow them to offer assistance to more people.”

The local Red Cross serves residents in Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Moore and Wayne counties.
