MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Longtime real estate agent John Jones recently signed on as the campaign manager for attorney Howard Wilson, who is vying for the Republican Party nomination in the Rutherford County Chancery Court judgeship race.
Jones, who has helped thousands of local families find homes in his 20 years in business, will serve as campaign manager in preparation of the May 2014 party primary.
If elected, Wilson would succeed Robert Corlew III, who recently announced plans to retire at the end of his term as Chancery Court judge for the 16th Judicial District, which comprises Rutherford and Cannon counties.
“I’m proud to support (his) campaign to become the next Chancery Court judge,” Jones said. “Howard (Wilson) started his own practice 24 years ago, and his work ethic and dedication to the law and our community are exactly what our county needs.”
Considered by many as an innovator both locally and nationally, Jones has consistently ranked among the Top 1 percent of agents in the nation and has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal as the No. 1 agent in Tennessee.
“John (Jones) is a highly respected business owner in Rutherford County and has been a great friend for many years,” Wilson said. “My campaign is very proud to have him join us as our campaign manager because he is a hard worker, trustworthy and provides invaluable insight on our community.”
Wilson, a lifelong Tennessee resident who has been a licensed attorney for more than two decades in Murfreesboro, announced his candidacy for the 16th District in November.
A member of the Rutherford County Republican Party, Wilson has served on its Executive Committee as parliamentarian. Currently, he serves on the Issues and Government Relations Committee for the party.
