Good, old-fashioned, stone-ground grits, pancakes and steel-cut oats are on the menu Saturday, Sept. 7, when the Readyville Mill reopens for breakfast.
The Mill will open for breakfast at 9 a.m. and will serve until 1 p.m.
Johnny B and the Balladeers will be providing their good old timey music. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling Pat Blankenship at 615-563-6455.
The Readyville Mill has been closed for the summer to allow for a much needed rest for the staff.
Blankenship, a former attorney in Murfreesboro and an avid supporter of the arts, has come on board as the full-time mill manager, and she and Tomm and Martha Brady have a vision for the Mill that includes more meals, more events and more community arts opportunities.
The Readyville Mill, located at 5418 Murfreesboro Road in Readyville, is a 150-year-old working grist mill, and it is on the National Registry of Historic Sites.
