Read to Succeed to hold literacy forum for employers

Read to Succeed will hold a Workforce Literacy Forum from 9-10:30 a.m. March 12 at State Farm’s corporate office.

Local experts involved with workforce and education in Rutherford County will speak.

The forum is intended to help employers learn how to provide better services and support to adults in need of workforce skills, training and general education.

The employers will gain the knowledge and resources to ensure the path between workforce readiness and job openings is accessible, relevant and leads to success.

Panelists include:

Marlene Myers – Branch Manager, Manpower, Inc.

George Ortega – Director, Motlow State Community College

Mike Malone – President, Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce

Kent Scoles – Coordinator Workforce Development / Evening Programs
Tennessee Technology Center

John McLaughlin – La Vergne Plant Manager, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operation

Joe Herbert – Director, Rutherford County Adult Education
