For the first time ever, Read to Succeed has a waiting list for adult learners and you can make a difference by volunteering for tutor training.

Training sessions for the Adult Literacy Program will be the five Tuesdays in September from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Lon Nuell Family Literacy Center in downtown Murfreesboro.

Training will also take place in North County later in the fall but learners from every area of Rutherford County are on our waiting list now.

Tutors help adult learners acquire basic literacy skills based on personal, self-identified goals and increase learner self confidence and self sufficiency.

Tutors are required to complete orientation and pre-service training for five 3-hour sessions for a total of 15 hours of training at session held throughout the year at various locations in Rutherford County.

Each tutoring session is held at a mutually convenient time and public location. Tutors do not provide transportation or meet at places of residence.
