There won’t be a spell check on the stage Tuesday at Patterson Park Community Center, when 13 local celebrities battle for a spelling bee championship.
The fifth Read To Succeed Celebrity Bee will be an “all-star” event, with past Bee winners and contestants vying for the top spot. The annual event raises money for literacy programs in Rutherford County.
Tickets to the Bee and Celebrity “Buzz” Dinner by Five Senses are still available for $50 per person. The Five Senses Celebrity “Buzz” Dinner starts at 6 p.m., with the Bee beginning at 7 p.m.
Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess, Smyrna Mayor Tony Dover, Eagleville Mayor Sam Tune and La Vergne Mayor Senna Mosley are among those spelling.
In honor of Murfreesboro’s Bicentennial Celebration, President Madison, Col. Hardy Murfree, Thomas Rucker and Capt. William Lytle – the major players in Murfreesboro’s founding – will even make an appearance (or, at least, their doppelgangers will).
To purchase tickets to the dinner, visit celebritybee.readtosucceed.org or send a check to Read To Succeed, P.O. Box 12161, Murfreesboro, Tenn., 37129. |
