The new Brown’s Chapel Elementary will draw students from three nearby schools, the Rutherford County Board of Education proposed last night.

Stewarts Creek, Stewartsboro and Blackman elementaries will all contribute to the 750 students who will attend classes at Brown’s Chapel next school year.

The board still has to hold a Jan. 8 public hearing and vote to approve the new zone sometime in January, before it’s finalized.

The proposed Brown’s Chapel Elementary zone will contain 735 students with 170 students from Stewarts Creek, 250 students from Stewartsboro and 300 from Blackman Elementary. The school can house up to 1,000 elementary students.

The new school is scheduled to open for the 2009-2010 school year and cost around $21 million.

So I'm not sure I understand the map. (yes I realize it is simple but so am I heehee) Is the Foothills subdivision in or out of the proposed zone?

emw247,

Yes, Foothills is located in the Study Area 2 from Blackman and I assume you'll be rezoned to Brown's Chapel.
