From Rutherford County Schools:

We were hoping that we could resume school tomorrow, however, there are a number of roads that still are not safe for buses. As such, all county schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 13. Again, all county schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 13.

We asked bus drivers to go out on their routes today to report any problem areas, and they found several roads that remain unsafe. In addition, the temperatures in the morning are expected to be in the teens, and we do not want to have students standing at the bus stops unsure if their buses would be able to reach them.

We take school closings very seriously and we want to resume classes as soon as possible, but we also want to ensure the safety of our students.

We will make an announcement tomorrow afternoon concerning school on Friday.
