Rutherford County School Board member Wayne Blair has been appointed to serve a one-year term as an at-large member the Tennessee School Boards Association Board of Directors.
Blair has been a member of the Rutherford County Board of Education since 2006, he has served as vice-chairman and Tennessee Legislative Network and Federal Relations Network representative.
He has also served as a TSBA Ambassador, is a Level IV Board Member in the TSBA Boardsmanship Program and was the recipient of a 2008 NSBA Distinguished Service Award.
Blair has been a member of the Read to Succeed Executive Board, and he is a past president both the La Vergne and Smyrna Rotary Clubs.
He was Criminal Justice Major at MTSU and is currently the vice-president of Raborn Insurance Agency in Smyrna. He is married and has two children.
