Raymond Alton Overstreet, age 75, of Smyrna, passed away on January 17, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a native of Elmwood, TN and a chartered member of Joywood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired from Bridgestone.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Connie Overstreet; brothers, Louis Overstreet, John Overstreet and Claude Overstreet; and sister, Alma Goad. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Overstreet of Smyrna; daughters, Ruby Aguiler of Texas, Mona Overstreet of Murfreesboro and Lynn Howell of Smyrna; sons, Louis Langley of LaVergne and Brian Overstreet of Smyrna; brother, Edwin Overstreet of Gallatin; sisters, Ruby Allison of Lebanon and Sybil Miller of Florida; 6 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A chapel service for Al will be held at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Rev. Jeff Clark and Rev. Kenny Butcher officiating. A graveside service for Al will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Elmwood, Tn. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
