NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING Th e City of Murfreesboro is considering the submittal of an application to the Tennessee Department of Transportation for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant for 2017. Th e purpose of the grant application is to solicit federal transportation funds for the purpose of undertaking a pedestrian improvement project entailing the installation of sidewalks along Mercury Boulevard (US 70) from SE Broad Street (US 41/70) to Middle Tennessee Boulevard. An informal public meeting will be held on September 19, 2016 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the Patterson Park Community Center Meeting Room "A" located at 521 Mercury Boulevard. Th e purpose of the meeting is to discuss the purpose and need as well as the general intended design and construction parameters of the project and the community's role in the application process. Th e City of Murfreesboro is seeking comments from the public and all residents are encouraged to attend. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS MURFREESBORO SPORTS LIGHTING (CITY OF MURFREESBORO) CONSTRUCTION BIDS TO BE RECEIVED September 20, 2016 Sealed bids will be received by the City of Murfreesboro at the City Manager's Office, City Hall; 111 West Vine Street; Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130 until 3:00 PM CST on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Public opening and reading will occur at approximately 3:01 PM CST on that date and will be conducted in the Council Chambers. Bid responses shall address all work shown within the Construction Drawings and Project Manual, including, but not limited to: Site preparation, utility work, and any other necessary requirements, permits, and/ or fees for the provision and installation of sports lighting at Richard Siegel Park (Soccer) and Old Fort Park (Tennis). Work shall consist of providing all materials, supplies, and equipment and performing all labor and services incidental to, or necessary for, the completion of construction of the project in accordance with the Construction Drawings, Project Manual, and any follow-up Addenda. Bid Documents (Construction Drawings and Project Manual) may be examined at: 1) F.W. Dodge Plan Room, Nashville; 2) Builders Exchange of Nashville; and 3) Lose & Associates, Inc.; 1314 5th Ave North; Nashville, Tennessee 37208. Hard copies of this material may be obtained from Lose & Associates, Inc., upon a non-refundable payment of one-hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00). To demonstrate Bidder qualifications to perform the work, the Bidder shall submit written information on present commitments and on experience as described in the Project Manual Invitation to Bid. The list should be submitted with the bid package and include project name, project owner, and project owner's contact information. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid price to guarantee that the Bidder will enter into an acceptable contract under bond. A contract performance bond and payment bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. The awarded Contractor will be required to certify to a drug-free workplace as specified in the Project Manual. Payment will be made on the 15th day of each month on the basis of ninetyfive percent (95%) of the work completed during the previous month. No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after bids have been opened. The City of Murfreesboro reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities. Bidding shall be in accordance with the Tennessee General Contractor's License Law. Bidders on construction projects that exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) must be licensed contractors as required by T.C.A. § 62-6-103. Bidders shall be required to place their bid in a sealed envelope, showing the Bidder's name, license number, expiration date, and that part of classification applying to the bid. The sealed envelope shall also indicate applicable State-required sub-contractor licensing information, in accordance with T.C.A. § 62-6-119.
