Tampa Blue Rays pitcher David Price and his parents, Bonnie and Debbie Price, believe it’s a blessing to give back to the community.
That’s why David Price’s Foundation, Project One Four, donated 15 new Dell computers to Eagleville School Wednesday. David Price is a Blackman High School graduate.
Price’s father, Bonnie, said his wife, Debbie, sent out letters to schools seeking needs. Eagleville School needed computers.
“We’re just trying to give back to the community,” Bonnie Price said in thanking people who support his son’s foundation.
Rhonda Holton, who is principal of the county’s only pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school, said the computers and the mobile cart will be used every day.
“My teachers are very technologically savvy,” Holton said.
The school has two computer labs but both are booked constantly and the school doesn’t have room for more computer labs. The gift from the Project One Four foundation will allow the computers to be transported to classrooms throughout the school.
“The mobile lab has just been an answer to a prayer,” Holton said “Teachers can use it in their classroom.” She thanked Bonnie Price, his son, and the people who support the foundation.
“Every student in this school will have an opportunity to use it,” Holton said. “This is something we’ve never had before. It’s like a Christmas present.”
